Description

DETAILS
Please note: The two ‘SVG’ bitmap styles require Photoshop CC 2018 or Illustrator CC 2018 (or newer) to use. The ‘Vector’ style was built in a traditional font format and is widely supported.

Introducing, Mr. Poster — a hand painted brush font that captures all the rich stroke imperfections of an authentic, illustrated typeface. Made using acrylic paint on transparency, its unique characteristics lend itself to bold, punchy type treatments. Great for projects that are looking to achieve a realistic, hand painted feel.

What’s Included:

3 fonts total (SVG regular, SVG alternates, standard vector)
A-Z upper and lowercase
numbers
punctuation
extra characters (no alternates)
alternate letters & numbers for a more realistic look
a third traditional vector font that is striped down to be used with a wider variety of applications like Word, etc. (no alternates)
does not include language support (sorry)
Software Required:

SVG bitmap fonts like this one are currently only supported by more recent versions of Photoshop 2018 (and newer), Illustrator 2018 (and newer), and a handful of other native Mac applications. Don’t forget, if you have CC you can upgrade for free in the cloud. Pretty soon they will be supported more widely.

APPLYING COLOR:

As with any new technology, these OTF fonts have a few known glitches. One of which is retaining their color in Photoshop. For example, if you simply type out your message, and then change the color of the font, the next time you format it in any way shape or form, it returns to its default black. No idea.

So the trick I’m using without fail is to apply a layer effect (in Photoshop) to that type layer using color overlay. Then it retains your shade of choice during any formatting or layout changes.

Finally:

I’m certain a lot of you will put this font through its paces so please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Thanks and enjoy!
